The Wagner Plague has half our crew out. Sticks & The Dog are out this week and Tailgate Debates held down the fort. The program started out with a Seahawk update with Swim & Dive going into NEC’s ranked number #1, Women’s Water Polo ranked #13 in the nation and Men’s Lacrosse coming in with a huggeee dub. The boys of course talked professional. They got heated when talking about Lebron James, Dev Booker, and Brad Stevens. A few updates: the phones are now working in the studio. We had a full house today! Welcome to the Wagner Radio Sports seahawk family Ally Long (new Social Media Manager), Jacqui Sjogren (host of “Inside the Athlete”) and Katelyn Traut (host of “Inside the Athlete”). Ally Long is revamping and launching our social media handles: Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter. Jacqui and Katelyn are starting their show “Inside the Athlete,” which will be them interviewing an excellent Seahawk athlete around campus. Sticks & The Dog had a full studio today. They brought in Kevin Doherty (LAX ‘19), Richard McKenna (LAX ‘21) and Tim Schmidt (LAX ‘20) to really bring up the heat! Jacqui and Katelyn interviewed MaKenna Depuydt (Swim & Dive ‘20), Wagner’s Student-Athlete Seahawk of the Month. Depuydt and her team are leaving for NECs tomorrow, so we are lucky to have her in the studio and hear her point-of-view. Tailgate Debates rounded out the show talked about key athletes on The Warriors, Cleveland and Toronto. They played, (or more so argued!), for the Top 5 Professional Athletes of All-Time. Catch in next time with Wagner Radio Sports!
Another great day to be a seahawk! Sticks & The Dog had a solid show tonight. Tune into this episode for NHL trade talk with their man-of-the-know Richard Mckenna (LAX ‘21) and a heated discussion about Lebron-- a recurring topic at Wagner Sports Radio. Inside the Athlete had #1 Team Player, Jojo Cooper, and dunkmaster, Shack Scott, discuss the semi-final game that is tomorrow 2/27 at 7 pm. Cooper and Scott answered questions about the season and being a Wagner student-athlete. Tailgate Debates finished out the show with talking about the NBL (Warriors) and NFL (Cleveland). Also, catch this segment for a shoutout to Wagner Alumni, Greg Senat, who is going to the NFL Combine.
After two weeks of being off, we are excited to be back! Sticks & The Dog and Tailgate Debates teamed up to tackle March Madness. The boys were hyped talking about their picks, huge upsets, and teams that are surprising them. Then of course they included the current Wagner phenomenon- Fortnite. Asking if you could choose 3 Wagner Student-Athletes who would you choose to squad up with? Inside the Athlete brought in a few of the baseball boys: Anthony Godino (Sr.), Koby Bishop (Jr.), and Anthony Pecora (Jr.). Tailgate Debates covered NFL in their *fire* show. They covered all their favorites in the NBA as well. The team is happy to be back on the air. Stay tuned for more things Sports Radio.
The last show of March was one for the books. Sticks & The Dog and Tailgate Debates teamed up again for their March Madness lowdown. Inside the Athlete had Lacey Anderson (‘18) and Katie Campbell (‘21), both members of the Women’s Water Polo team. After a big weekend for water polo, they kept WCBG Sports in touch with all the recent wins for polo. Tailgates Debates finished off the show with a great debate.
